Vinyasa Flow
In Vinyasa Flow yoga there is no fixed series of poses so each Vinyasa yoga teacher and each vinyasa class can and will be different, and this variety is what I find is the real beauty of Vinyasa Flow yoga. It is a creative, fluid and dynamic style of yoga, and Vinyasa Flow yoga helps build overall strength and flexibility.
Often some variations of Surya Namaskara A and B from the Krishnamacharya linage is represented, and some apply as well Iyengar alignments principles, energetic actions within poses and use of props.
Therefor style, pace and intensity of the classes will all vary. Classes may be sequenced around a peak pose such as a backbend, or they might focus on a particular theme such as the chakras, or an aspect of yoga philosophy.
The class may be dynamic and focus on strengthening postures, or it may be a slower flow with an emphasis on mobility and flexibility in the spine or the hips.
